About Lincolnshire Trades Council

We are the democratic voice of organised labour in Lincolnshire — uniting trade unions to campaign for workers' rights, fair pay, and social justice across the county.

Who We Are

Lincolnshire Trades Council is the county-wide body that brings together trade union branches from across Lincolnshire. We are part of the national Trades Union Congress (TUC) network of trades councils, which has represented working people in towns and cities across Britain for over 150 years.

We are a democratic, member-led organisation. Every affiliated union branch sends delegates to our meetings, where they debate, campaign, and take collective action on the issues that matter most to working people in our county.

But we are more than a campaigning body. We are a community — building connections between workers, unions, and local people, fostering solidarity and collective strength that goes beyond the workplace and into the heart of Lincolnshire life.

What We Do

Campaign for Workers' Rights

We campaign locally and nationally on issues affecting working people — from fair pay and safe workplaces to employment rights and public services.

Support Trade Unions

We provide a forum for affiliated unions to share information, coordinate action, and support one another across different industries and sectors.

Engage with the Community

We work with community organisations, local councils, and campaigning groups to build broad coalitions in support of workers and their families.

Educate and Inform

We promote trade union education, raise awareness of workers' rights, and help people understand how unions can support them in the workplace.

Mark Workers' Occasions

We organise events to mark key dates in the trade union calendar, including May Day, the Durham Miners' Gala, and Lincolnshire's own workers' events.

Represent Working People

We represent the interests of working people in Lincolnshire in dealings with local authorities, employers, and public bodies.

Affiliated Unions

The following trade union branches are affiliated to Lincolnshire Trades Council. Together, they represent thousands of workers across education, public services, health, civil service, retail, and general industries.

Is your branch not listed? We welcome affiliations from any TUC-affiliated trade union branch operating in Lincolnshire. Get in touch.

Meet the Executive

Lincolnshire Trades Council is led by a voluntary executive committee of elected delegates from affiliated union branches. They give their time freely in the service of working people across the county.
